- Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Packs 3 and 4
- Microsoft Windows XP with current or (current-1) Service Pack—32-bit and x64 editions
- Microsoft Windows 2003 with current or (current-1) Service Pack— 32-bit and x64 editions
Memory Requirements
- Windows 98 /98 SE—Minimum 64 MB, recommended 128 MB
- All others— Minimum 128 MB, recommended 256 MB
Supported platforms for VirusScan Command Line for UNIX
- IBM AIX 4.3.3, 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 for RS6000 with the latest Maintenance Packages installed
- Linux for Intel 32-bit distributions shipping with 2.4 and 2.6 production kernels, libc6 (glibc), gcc versions 3.2 onwards, and with libstdc++.so.5 installed. 64-bit edition support using x64 CPU's in 32 bit compatibility mode.
- FreeBSD 4.3 to 4.11 for Intel (x86) 32-bit with legacy compatibility library libc.so.3 installed
- Hewlett-Packard HP-UX 11.0 and 11i for PA-RISC with the latest Standard HP-UX patch bundles installed. HP-UX 11i v2 (11.23) is not supported
- Sun Microsystems Solarisfor SPARC architecture v8, v9 and v10, with all recommended patches—32-bit and 64-bit
- McAfee recommends that you have root account permissions to install McAfee VirusScan for UNIX software and perform on-demand scan operations on your file system
