Objectives
Our expert consultants help you plan, implement and learn how to manage your McAfee GroupShield installation in your Lotus Domino environment. Our best practices and expertise assure comprehensive protection for your enterprise against Internet worms, viruses and other malicious threats that enter and spread via e-mail attachments.

Assessment and Analysis
We start by working with your team to understand your current environment.
Setup and Configuration
- Analyze your hardware and software within the Domino environment
- Review architectural diagrams or other documentation depicting your current Domino environment and planned changes
- Review existing Domino configuration and performance characteristics
- Discuss network bandwidth specifications across LAN/WAN links
- Review existing Domino specifications, such as RAM, hard disk, CPU power, version number, and MS service pack level
- Review current anti-virus software deployed on the Domino servers (if any)
- Identify any software or network protocols that already exist in your environment that could cause conflicts with the GSD software rollout
- Determine impact and/or software required on Domino clients
- Review any existing alerting mechanisms in your environment and recommend support GSD alerting
- Discuss distribution requirements and recommend a distribution mechanism for GSD product software upgrades and DAT signature file updates
- Install and configure GroupShield for Domino on a test (non-production) server
- Verify installation, detection, and cleaning functionality using EICAR test virus
- Set-up initial alert mechanism and verify functionality
- Install and configure GroupShield for Domino on test (non-production) servers
- Verify the functionality of GSD on the first production server, then perform remote installs to up to six (6) other Domino servers (on the LAN or across the WAN)
- Work with your Domino administrator to monitor and tune the performance of the GSD software in the production network
- Recommend and implement a configuration of GSD to alert your Domino administrator of found viral infections
- Implement a procedure to update the DAT virus signature files and product software

Throughout the engagement, we train one of your team members to install, configure and manage McAfee GroupShield for Domino.
